Our Story

Growing up in the heart of Sayville, Long Island;  Chef/Owner Stephen Rizzo began to realize that the community was in dire need of something new, unique and eclectic.  He began to put his dream into reality by opening Long Island's first butcher and restaurant;  Off The Block Kitchen & Meats, in 2015.

Stephen Rizzo jumped into the restaurant industry at the young age of 14 and has never looked back.  After working locally, he graduated from The Culinary Institute of America and started building his repertoire of knowledge working under Michelin starred chefs in New York City,

Now he resides at Off The Block each day, where he shows true love and passion for food, the culinary world and locally sourced, high quality, fresh proteins and produce.  Off The Block provides customers with a full-scale butcher shop, dine-in restaurant, as well as take-out and catering;  providing its guests a top quality, welcoming, and new type of experience.
